Boy have I been a bad blogger!! What's new, right? Yeah, I know...
I've been traveling a LOT this year, teaching all over. It's been great, and I'm always so inspired when I get to meet new photographers and hear their stories. It is so fulfilling to me to get to see the "ah-ha!" moments and then get the cards and emails after returning home about something that clicked and changed for someone in regards to their business.
I know that it appears "glamourous" to get to travel all over and speak to hundreds/thousands of photographers. Reality is... I fly in, check into a hotel, judge print comp or other duties at the convention, do my program, help in a vendor booth, and then fly out. I don't get to experience the places that I travel to unless I make specific plans to (which doesn't happen). And, I really miss home and especially my little man. With just one child left at home, I treasure every second with him! He's getting older, and busy, busy himself.
After returning home each time, I'm slammed in the studio with everything that has gotten put off while I'm gone. Sessions that should be over two weeks are scrunched into one. Marketing that should be done keeps me up at night. I could go on and on... I've learned to schedule and prioritize, which doesn't come naturally, and thank goodness for a fantastic staff!
I am going to try to start getting some images here at least once a week (hold me accountable!) and am looking at some changes soon... including a new website with BIG FOLIO!! I've loved working with them, and they have been SOOO patient with me!
I'm also working with photographers daily on Photo Talk Forum. It's been great to funnel energy there. We are going to be announcing some fun things from Photo Talk next month too - gearing up for our June anniversary!!
Winterset friends, be looking for some info on special Winterset Days here in the studio!
We'll also be announcing some special spring sessions and senior sessions soon!! Stay tuned and thank you for being so patient with me!!
Happy Spring!
you are so amazing and you give so much to so many! thanks for being who you are...the world is a better and more beautiful place because of you!!! love you!!!
