Announcing Three Studio Workshops!

You've asked, and here they are!  Dates for 3 studio workshops this summer/fall.  We've booked the July workshop and have now added 3 more dates for you to choose from!

Each workshop will include two packed-full, intense days of learning and sharing.  These will be small, intimate groups and the information will be tailored to YOU.  We'll be settled in our gorgeous new studio space with lots of room to spread out, but I'll be sharing the pros and cons of the time I've spent all on-location, out of my home, as well as in a retail location. (I've been where YOU are, and I want to share with you what I've learned)  We'll talk about the right spot for YOU and how to make the very best of marketing and planning for the circumstance YOU are working in.

As a single mom, I understand the struggle to find balance in this business that we love and our families as well as time for personal growth.  Take this time for YOU.  For coming together as a group for growth, for sharing, for learning and moving our businesses in the right direction.

We'll have food brought in for lunch (included in your registration) so we won't have to stop for a second!  We'll also be spending Monday evening together writing marketing plans, working on pricing, setting goals, sharing sources of inspiration, etc.

Texas School

Coming up next week will be my second year to teach at the Texas School of Professional Photography.  It's a week-long intense training, and I can't wait!!  When you're with a classroom full of excited photographers for an entire week, it can be scary what comes out!  The good, the bad, and the ugly are sure to be revealed!  lol

Young Guns WPPI

Just returned from a whirl-wind week in Vegas for (WPPI) Wedding and Portrait Photographers International.  WOW. 

I was so honored on Sunday night to be a part of the opening program.  As part of the "Young Guns" group I was completely humbled by the talent and character that I was surrounded by.  At one point during the program I had to shake tears as I thought about what an amazing experience I was a part of.  It's something I'll never forget!

Pregnant? WPPI?

I am heading out to Vegas in the morning for WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International).  I'm SO excited about the trip and can't wait to see lots of old friends!!  I told you guys in a previous post that I will be part of the Young Guns Program on Sunday night.  If you are a pro photographer and can be there, please come and find me on Sunday.  I'll be running around all afternoon and I have a TSHIRT!! for you to wear to the Young Guns Program.

I just got back from a looong week in Tampa.  It was so great to see old friends and meet new ones!  The programming all went really well and I was very honored to be a part of it!  It's so fun to get to hear from photographers who have taken any inspiration that I could have possibly given them!!  So, if you're one of those that came to say hi, or to let me know how you've implemented something that I've shared, please know how much those little things mean.  It's the whole reason that the speakers can get out there and keep on doing what they do.  It's the feedback and fulfillment that comes from seeing that "ah-ha" moment on someones face.  (hugs and small gifts are great too!)   :)

"young guns"

Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) just realeased their schedule for the March 2008 convention.  I'll be joining a group of photographers named the "Young Guns" (hey, nobody asked for i.d. - don't tell them how old i am!!)

YOUNG GUNS

A few of my friends are in the group: the amazing (and beautiful) David Jay , David is not only an incredible photographer, he's an awesome businessman, and just a neat guy.  He is energetic and fun and that comes accross in everything he does. Catherine Hall, who I recently met in New York and really hit it off with! She's a big inspiration and just being around her encouraged me to reach further. Also my friends JB and DeEtte Sallee.  Jb and DeEtte  hit the ground running.  They are so cute and in love and they beautifully capture the wedding day. 

I'm really excited to meet the other photographers as well, and am so honored to be a part of it!!

Where I'll be

I wanted to update my speaking schedule here for all of you! 

This month I will be speaking at Light Pro Expo at Captiva Island, Fla.  http://www.lightproexpo.com/schedule.php  Light Pro will be held Sept 23-27.  My program is on Tues. the 25th. 

In October, I will be speaking for the professional photographers of Kansas http://www.kppa.org/2006/fall2007/Lori.htm .  My program is all day Sunday, September 7. 

Next I'll be in New York for the Professional Photographers of Greater New York.  http://www.ppgny.org/long-island-conference-2007/

Our own Professional Photographers of Iowa Seminar is October 28-29. http://www.ppiowa.com/ Some of my very favorite people and incredible photographers will be there - Tim and Beverly Walden http://www.waldensphotography.com/.  If you are a professional, or aspiring professional photographer in Iowa, you don't want to miss this!  We have an incredible group and I'd love to see you there!

After that I'll be attending a small gathering of photographers for a special retreat in December.  Then our PPA national convention in January.
