    Texas School

Coming up next week will be my second year to teach at the Texas School of Professional Photography.  It's a week-long intense training, and I can't wait!!  When you're with a classroom full of excited photographers for an entire week, it can be scary what comes out!  The good, the bad, and the ugly are sure to be revealed!  lol

If you're reading this and you're coming, I can't WAIT to meet you!! We're going to have so much fun!!

If you're reading this and would like more info so you can attend next year, check out the TPPA website

Iowa Cubs Game April 19, 2007

As part of the fundraising for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, I have a bunch of tickets for the Iowa Cubs game next Saturday, April 19.  I will be presenting a check to LLS on the field along with Hubbell Homes.  We both participated in fund-raising for Oprah's Big Give.

Join me for the game!!!  For a donation in any ammount you can get your tickets for you and your guests from me.

Give me a ring at the studio 515.462.9211 if you can make it. I would love to have my friends there!

    "Woman of the Year"

As you know, I have been involved with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for several years now.  Lori Nordstrom Studio donates portrait session fees for our "Little Angels" events and we create a calendar each year to raise money for LLS.

    Cover_2008

This year I'm kicking it up a notch and am not only committed to raising money, I'm competing for the "Woman of the Year" title!  The competition is Iowa's "Man, Woman, and Celebrity of the Year" campaign.  I was nominated this year and have accepted the challenge!  The key to winning the title is, you guessed it, raising the most money.  But, before i write any more, the real reason for my participation is the seriousness of the disease.  Leukemia, as many of you may know from personal experience, is a tragic disease that afflicts too many in our society.  Most tragically, the most heavily affected are young children.  The good news is that there have been tremendous advances in helping combat the disease.  The money raised by contests such as this around the country will help keep the momentum going.

This is where you come in!

I have never asked for money from anyone for any reason at any time.  This is HARD for me to do!  But this cause is so worthwhile, that I've made this commitment and am asking for your help.

I know you have many opportunities each year to "give to charity".  Please consider this charity this year and help me reach my personal goal of raising $30,000.  It's a hefty goal, but I have pledged to work compassionately to reach it, and I know you can help me!

There are several ways you can help:

    1.  Just make a check out to the Leukemia and Lyphoma Society (LLS), and return it in the enclosed envelope by June 9, 2008.  Checks should be made payable to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) and mailed to me: Lori Nordstrom 51 East Jefferson, Winterset, 50273.

You can also donate online by logging on to www.lls.org/ia.mwcy/nordstrom

    2. Join me at the Man, Woman and Celebrity of the Year Grand Finale!

You can make a reservation for the event for a donation of $75, OR give your business a presence at the Grand Finale by reserving a table for $750 (10 guests).  By reserving a company table you will be listed in the Grand Finale Program and have a table tent with your company name on it.  This is a fantastic organization to help out, and this event is a night of great fun, food, drinks, and this year Tom Arnold will be the host!

    3. The next way you can help me out is to order your 2009 Little Angels Calendars.  The Little Angels Calendars make great gifts for friends, family, co-workers and employees.  Plus, every dollar from every calendar is a complete donation to LLS. There are discounts for multiple calendars, so consider who you can cross of or your Christmas list and get your shopping done early!  Call the studio 515.462.9211 to order.

I KNOW I have the greatest group of friends of anyone!  I need your help because I have some pretty stiff competition.  I'm counting on you!

    Thank you, Thank you!

    Little Angels on ABC

This last weekend was our 2nd weekend to photograph "Little Angels" for the 2009 calendar benefitting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

We've teamed up with ABC and Oprah's Big Give, and ABC was at the event this weekend held at East Village Books in Des Moines.  I was on live at 5, which made me a nervous wreck - being miked in and not knowing what was going on!  lol, but the great story at 6 and 10 made up for it!  Thanks so much to ABC for promoting the event, and thank you to Hubble Homes who is doubling what we raise between now and April 20th!!
